Sunday 5th April saw a special event take place in Fernhurst, with a celebration of the centenary of the club and a celebration of the live of our former club secretary. We played a Brighton Select XI including manyhousehold names from past Portsmouth teams. Over 400 people came to join in the celebrations. The event was desigend to raise money for the Marie Curie Cancer Fund, and the Sussex FA Benevolent Fund, and we managed to raisenearly £600 for these worthwhile causes.

Fernhurst Sports FC run two teams in the Covers West Sussex Football League, information about these teams can be found in the menu on the left. We are also planning to start a veterans team for players over the age of 35, and a number of youth teams. We have just completed a business plan for the formation of the youth team, including employing a professional coach to coach the youngsters and to help develop new coaches within the club. Further afield, we plan to set up a ladies team, as there are a large number of female footballers locally. This will occur in conjunction with a major redevelopment project of the recreation ground - please review our plans in the Facilities section. |
