We have a rich heritage at Fernhurst Sports FC of developing young talent. During the 1970's and 80's, we had a thriving youth policy that produced many good local players. These players moved into adult football, and unfortunately Fernhurst failed to keep the momentum going.

We now plan to redress this. Over the last two years we have been running coaching days for local children, either as a club-run activity or in conjunction with Brighton & Hove Albion football club and their team of professional coaches.

Thom Poole, one of our committee members, developed a business plan that we are submitting to the Football Foundation to help us fund a professional coach who will take the youth team training, with a team manager, and who will help develop adult players who want to undertake the Football Association coaching badges.
