Sunday 5th April saw a special event take place in Fernhurst, with a celebration of the centenary of the club and a celebration of the live of our former club secretary. We played a Brighton Select XI including manyhousehold names from past Portsmouth teams. Over 400 people came to join in the celebrations. The event was desigend to raise money for the Marie Curie Cancer Fund, and the Sussex FA Benevolent Fund, and we managed to raisenearly £600 for these worthwhile causes.

The long history of Fernhurst Sports FC provides us with a great number of ex-players, too old now to play in the senior league. There are a number of veterans leagues throughout the country, but few local teams providing a game for the over-35's. We do, however, now plan to provide facilities for a new team to compete in the veterans leagues locally. Anyone interested, please contact us via our e-mail address. |
