Gerald Puttick was a stalwart of this club for over 50 years, until his death last year. Because of his death, we were unable to hold this match last year, so in memory of Gerald, we have invited Guy Butters to form a team for this centenary match.

Fernhurst finally lost this match 3-1, but that was not the objective of the day - we managed to raise the profile of our own club, and raise much needed funds for two charities. The ex-professionals were so impressed that they agreed to send another team to us next year.

The match programme was highly praised, and is still available from the club - if you wish to buy one, please send a cheque for £2.50 and a stamped addressed envelope (Large letter) to Fernhurst Sports FC, c/o PO Box 202, Fernhurst, Haslemere, Surrey. GU27 3ZN
