After several weeks of near defeats or heavy defeats, Fernhurst Reserves turned the corner this weekend just gone, with an emphatic 5 - 3 victory over Middleton Reserves, the odds were stacked against Fernhurst from the start conceding a sloppy goal in the first minute, but they soon responded with a goal from Tom Challon, the goals soon stated to flow, after several attempts on goal, Middleton made it 2-1, but Fernhurst responded quickely, with a breath taking goal from Sam Williams, cutting in from the left flank, beating 2 players, and unleashing a powerful drive, that went into the top corner.

At half time the scores at 2-2 - Fernhurst now had the belief that they could record their second league victory of the season, and after a penalty save from Dan Woods, Fernhurst scored with goals from Sam Williams, Liam Bray, and a stunning goal from Jay Cobbold, taking the ball on the bounce turning and hitting the ball on the volley, scoring from a full 25 yards out - it took everyone by suprise including Jay

Second half subs from Dave Pappa, allowed Jason Hayter and Phil Stafford to come on and give the team some fresh legs and a calming experience, to see the game through, Middleton did get a goal back, but it proved nothing more than a consolation.
